When does a YouTube link fail to import?

Private, deleted and members-only videos cannot be fetched, and a livestream that has only just ended may be refused until YouTube finishes processing it. YouTube also blocks some requests from servers. ClipClap routes downloads through a proxy and retries, but when a link still fails, upload the file you are allowed to process.

The engine looks for a complete thought, so a rambling hour with a few sharp stories works better than a fast montage. Music videos and silent screen recordings have little transcript for it to read.

Can I clip just one part of a long YouTube video?

Yes. Choose a start and an end time, for example 1:34:04 to 1:35:07, and only that part is processed and counted. Paid plans allow a part of up to 3 hours. A range of 90 seconds or less is cut as one clip exactly as you picked it.

Do I need the rights to convert someone else's video?
