How to turn a 3 hour stream into short clips
Send the whole 3 hours VOD to ClipClap on a paid plan, or pick just the part you want, and it returns vertical subtitled clips. A source can be up to 3 hours and 2 GB. A full 3 hours source uses 180 of your plan minutes, so the cheapest plan that covers it is Starter monthly at €12 ($13.99), with 200 minutes.

Should I send the whole stream or just a part?
Send the whole stream when you have no idea where the good moments are and your plan balance covers it. Pick a part when you already know the stretch, or when the stream is longer than the maximum source. Both routes end with the same kind of vertical clips.
- Whole stream. Paste the link or upload the file. ClipClap transcribes all 180 minutes and looks for moments across them. It needs a plan balance of at least the stream length.
- A part of it. Pick a start and an end instead. Only that part counts toward your minutes. Paid plans can pick up to 3 hours. It also works on streams longer than 3 hours.
How many minutes does a 3 hour stream cost?
Plans count source minutes, so a 3 hours stream uses 180 minutes. Starter has 60 a week for €3.99 ($4.49), which is too little for a whole 3 hours source but fine for picked parts.
For whole long streams, Starter monthly gives 200 minutes for €12 ($13.99), Plus gives 450 for €29 ($32.99) and Max gives 1500 for €89 ($99.99). Per-minute prices for every plan, next to other tools, are on the price per minute page.
How many clips will a long stream give, and how long does it take?
The number of clips depends on the stream, not on a quota: a talkative stream with several self-contained moments gives more, a quiet one gives few. If nothing strong is found, you may get one clip flagged as low quality, or none. The list is never padded.
We do not publish a fixed processing time because it depends on the source length and the queue; a longer source takes longer.
Which stream moments does the selection miss?
Selection follows the transcript, so it finds jokes, reactions that are spoken, stories and arguments. It does not read chat or the loudness of the audio, so a silent clutch play or a purely visual moment can be missed. If you know a timestamp the engine skipped, run that stretch again as a picked part.
Where do the clips go and how long are they kept?
Clips arrive in the web dashboard or in the Telegram chat, and they are stored for a limited time that depends on the plan. Starter keeps clips for 7 days, Plus for 30 and Max for 90. Download what you need before the window ends, and keep your own copy of the original recording.
What else should I know before clipping a long stream?
- Is 3 hours the hard limit?
- For a whole video, yes. Picking a range inside a longer video lets you clip part of a longer stream, as long as the part fits your plan. A twelve hour recording is therefore workable in pieces, and each piece counts only for its own length against your minutes.
- Do clips have a watermark?
- No, on any plan. Clips are rendered the same way on every plan, in 9:16 with burned-in subtitles. What the plan changes is the limits, such as the longest source and the number of minutes, and features such as subtitle translation, background choice and re-cuts.
- Is the stream kept?
- Clips are stored for a limited time that depends on the plan, so download what you need. The retention is 7 days on Starter, 30 on Plus and 90 on Max. Do not treat ClipClap as an archive for your streams, and keep your own copy of the original recording.
Paid plans start at €3.99 ($4.49) a week, and the first week is €1.99 ($2.29) for new customers.
