Opus Clip alternative: an honest comparison with ClipClap
Prices below were read on each vendor's own pricing page on 9 September 2026. Where a vendor does not publish a number, this page says so rather than repeating one from somewhere else.
The short version
ClipClap and Opus Clip do the same core job: you give them a long video and they return short vertical clips with subtitles burned in. The differences that matter are what you pay and where the product lives.
ClipClap costs €3.99 ($4.49) a week for 60 minutes of source video, or €12 ($13.99) a month for 200 minutes, €29 ($32.99) a month for 450, and €89 ($99.99) a month for 1500. The whole product also runs inside a Telegram bot, which is unusual in this category.
Opus Clip's paid plans start at $15 a month for Starter and $29 a month for Pro, with a Business tier by quote that adds an API. Its free plan renews monthly, but free exports carry a watermark and stop being exportable after three days. Starter includes 150 credits per month; Free includes 60 credits per month. Where ClipClap is the worse choice
If you need an API, scheduled posting, a larger dubbing allowance, or seats for a team, ClipClap does not have them and Opus Clip does.
ClipClap is also young: Launched in 2026. In the last 30 days 450+ creators signed up and 1,100+ clips were made (as of 2026-10-03). ClipClap on Product Hunt. And YouTube links are the one input that sometimes fails, so use a direct upload if an import fails. Always review a sample before spending your allowance on a long recording.
Where ClipClap is the better choice
The weekly plan is the clearest difference. Clippers who are paid per view are paid weekly, and a €3.99 ($4.49) weekly plan matches that rhythm in a way a $15 monthly subscription does not. If a campaign ends, you stop after a week rather than carrying a month you will not use.
The second is the Telegram bot. Sending a link in a chat and getting the clips back in the same chat removes the browser entirely, and the bot speaks English, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian and Arabic.
The third is that the clips carry no watermark on any plan, so what you get is what you would actually post.

Test the same recording before switching
Use a 5-10 minute recording you own in both tools. ClipClap requires at least 60 seconds of source video. Compare whether each clip starts with enough context, finishes the thought, keeps the subject in frame and transcribes names correctly. Count the clips you would actually publish, not just the clips generated.
Check the source allowance and export window against your normal workload. A weekly subscription suits occasional work, while a monthly plan can suit recurring episodes.
