Voice dubbing on Plus and Max
AI Dubbing for Short Clips in Another Language
To dub short clips into another language, turn on voice dubbing when you submit a video on Plus or Max. ClipClap first cuts the clips, then dubs only those clips, keeping the speaker's voice and the background audio. This is AI dubbing for short clips: only the clips are dubbed, so the dubbing minutes go to the moments you will actually post.

How does ClipClap dub a clip?
Pick a subtitle language and switch on voice dubbing when you submit the video. ClipClap chooses the moments from the original speech, cuts them, and then dubs only the finished clips using a clone of the speaker's own voice, with the original music and background sound kept under the new speech.

Clip first, then dub only the clips
Pick a subtitle language when you submit the video and switch on Voice dubbing, in the browser or in the Telegram bot settings. The moments are chosen from the original speech, and only the finished clips are dubbed. A clip is a short stretch of audio instead of the full recording, so it uses far fewer dubbing minutes than dubbing the whole video would.
- 02
What is kept: the voice and the background
The dub is made with a clone of the speaker's own voice, so a clip still sounds like the same person. Music and background sound from the original are kept under the new speech instead of being replaced by silence.
- 03
Choose the subtitles on dubbed clips
Dubbed clips can carry subtitles in the dubbed language, which is one of 15 languages, or keep the original-language subtitles. The choice is a setting next to the dubbing switch, and the title and description follow the language you picked.
- 04
Plans and minutes
Voice dubbing is included in Plus and Max, with 3 minutes of dubbing a month on Plus and 10 minutes on Max. Minutes are charged per clip, and a clip that fails to dub is refunded and delivered undubbed, with translated subtitles.
What are the limits of AI dubbing?
The voice is synthetic, there is no lip sync, and quality follows the audio you feed it. Overlapping voices or loud music give a weaker clone. A dubbed clip cannot be trimmed afterwards, and dubbing is capped at 3 minutes a month on Plus and 10 on Max. Listen to every dubbed clip before posting.
- A dubbed clip cannot be trimmed afterwards. Check the start and end before you dub, because changing the cut means dubbing the clip again.
- Quality depends on clean speech. Overlapping voices, loud music or a poor recording give a weaker voice clone and a less natural result, so listen to every dubbed clip before posting.
- Dubbing has no lip sync, so the mouth movements stay those of the original language.
- Dubbing is capped at 3 minutes a month on Plus and 10 on Max, and it is not available on Starter.
How many clips can I dub with the monthly minutes?
Plus has 3 dubbing minutes a month and Max has 10. Minutes are charged on clip length, so as arithmetic only: clips of 45 seconds use 0.75 minute each, which is four clips on Plus and thirteen on Max. Shorter clips stretch the allowance further, and a clip that fails to dub is refunded.
Why dub the clips instead of the whole video?
Because you will post the clips, not the hours between them. Dubbing a two-hour recording would spend two hours of voice work to produce a few minutes you publish. ClipClap cuts first and dubs second, so dubbing minutes are spent on the clips alone.
What happens to music and background sound?
They stay. The original soundtrack is kept under the dubbed speech, so a clip with game audio, room noise or a music bed still sounds like the same scene with a different language on top. If the original mix is very loud or speech and music overlap heavily, the separation is rougher and the dub is easier to notice.
Which languages can a clip be dubbed into?
The dubbed language is one of the 15 subtitle languages that translation supports, picked in the same menu. You can pair a dub with subtitles in the dubbed language or keep the original-language subtitles. The clips are chosen from the original speech whichever language you pick.
Is it cheaper to dub the clips than the whole video?
Yes. ClipClap cuts the clips first and dubs only those, so you pay in dubbing minutes for the moments you will post, not for the hours between them. The source video itself is still billed in source minutes like any other job, so dubbing is an addition on top of the normal plan balance.
Does the dubbed voice sound like the speaker?
It is a clone of the speaker's voice, so it is close in tone and timbre, but it is a synthetic voice and can differ in emotion and pacing. Short, clean, single-speaker clips come out closest. Listen to the dubbed version before you publish, and keep the undubbed clip as a fallback.
Which plans include dubbing?
Plus (3 minutes a month) and Max (10 minutes a month). Starter gets translated subtitles but no dubbing. Plus costs €29 ($32.99) a month and Max €89 ($99.99) a month, both billed monthly and cancellable at any time.
What happens if the dubbing fails?
The clip is delivered undubbed with translated subtitles, and the dubbing minutes charged for it are refunded to your allowance. You do not need to contact anyone. The rest of the clips in the job are unaffected, so one failed dub never fails the whole job.
Want a clip dubbed in the speaker's own voice?
Dubbing needs Plus (€29 ($32.99) a month) or Max (€89 ($99.99) a month).
